JRWNDHLP - Call Windows Help Jim Rash, rev. 6/24/89
What are "Call Windows", and how are they used?
Call Windows (CW) is an optional section of your routing.bbs that allows
you specify the hours that you want to allow MDRIVER to call specified
nodes. One advantage of using CW is that it is possible to have a
single routing file, that will function during different netmail
sessions.
CW can be set up in two ways...
1. CW without a "/OW" switch on MDRIVER...
-------
a) The CW entries will allow calls to the specifed nodes only
during the times indicated.
b) Calls will be made only in the presence of either
- mail to deliver
- an outbound
- an echo request.
c) Warning: Nodes NOT listed in CW could be called as in (b)
above, unless there are inbounds to prevent the call.
2. CW with a "/OW" switch on MDRIVER...
----
a) The CW entries will allow calls to the specifed nodes only
during the times indicated.
b) The /OW generates automatic OUTBOUNDS and a call will be forced, even
if there is no mail to deliver.
c) Nodes NOT listed in CW will be automatically INBOUNDED.
Example:
CALL WINDOWS
001/010, 3:00-4:00
004/001-999, 3:00-4:00
001/010, 5:00-6:00
001/029, 5:00-6:00
END
Additional notes:
1) Do not use a node range (as in the example) if using "/OW".
2) Do not use "/OW" without CALL WINDOWS.
3) Limit of 40 call windows.
